Hatha means balancing of Sun energy and Moon energy. “Ha” means Sun and “tha” means Moon — so Hatha yoga is the yoga that brings the Pingala (Sun) and Ida (Moon) nadis into balance. By practising yoga postures (asanas) you maintain balance in your Pingala and Ida nadis. Alongside the postures, breathing practices (pranayama) help maintain that balance, so the Sushumna nadi — the energy pathway through the centre of the spine — is activated. Awakening the Sushumna leads a person toward the truth in life: spirituality, divinity, positivity, supreme consciousness.
With so many techniques available today, a practitioner can try several different kinds. But after a period of time, it helps to settle on one technique and practise continuously — going deeper and deeper to manifest inner consciousness, leading toward the ultimate consciousness. Some of the practices we share include:
Part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture treats many common ailments and is most effective for physical conditions such as headache, migraine, muscle pain, stress, cough and cold, back pain and neck pain. Fine needles are placed at specific points along the meridians (energy pathways). Those who are wary of needles can try acupressure, where pressure is applied at the same points with the fingers instead.
An ancient therapy that combines yoga and acupressure, performed on the floor while the client wears thin, loose-fitting clothing. The therapist uses their hands, feet, knees and hips to massage and guides the client through gentle yoga postures and stretches while kneading and pressing the muscles. Thai Yoga Massage relieves pain and muscle tension, promotes deep relaxation, reduces stress, increases flexibility, improves circulation and lymphatic flow, improves posture and range of motion, eases headaches and raises the body's energy levels.
An ancient form of alternative medicine in which special cups are placed on the skin for a few minutes to create suction. It can help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and wellbeing, and acts as a type of deep-tissue massage. There are two types — dry and wet. Here we offer dry cupping, using a rubber pump to create a vacuum inside the cup. Sometimes the cups are moved across the skin for a massage-like effect.
For those who need complete relaxation from stress, muscle pain, back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain or headaches. This body alignment releases tension in the muscles and joints so you can perform your physical activities with greater ease.
Participants can be taught how to perform LSP and yogic enema for themselves, and the therapist can guide the practice on request. This cleansing practice supports those who experience constipation and difficulty with bowel movement.
